Functional threshold power (FTP) is the maximum average energy (Watt) that cyclists can do in 1 hour This FTP is useful to cyclists as it can be used as a benchmark to measure fitness and development in cycling. FTP (Functional Threshold Power) testing is done in order to determine the correct training zone. There are mainly two methods of FTP testing, the most common being the 20-minute test being the closest, if you don't have a Power Meter and want to test FTP, you can test at STAGE using Life Fitness IC 8 bike. There are 3 FTP test formats for you to choose from Ramp Test, 5-minute test, 20-minute test.
You can also use the 20 minute FTP test to calculate your unique and tailored training zone (0.95 x FTP 20 min), which will allow you to improve your riding without the need for manual training, approximate Athletes who are serious about training will use the weight as a percentage of the limit of power in cycling Function Threshold Power (FTP) Why., because the use of heart rate has variables that directly and indirectly affect cycling, such as wind/cadence/slope even terrain, which will affect their starting point of fatigue and when you calculate the value cycling Power Limit Function Threshold Power (FTP)You can use this zone to analyze training zones on Training Peak

TRAINING ZONE 1,  it is known as the recovery zone. RECOVERY In this zone, the intensity is approximately 55% of the FUNCTION THRESHOLD POWER (FTP) cycling power limit, this training aids in recovery after a previous race or rigorous training session.

TRAINING ZONE 2, weight between 56-75 percent of FUNCTION THRESHOLD POWER (FTP) cycling power limits, depending on individual fitness, are aerobic energy training that may be ridden in this zone for more than 2 hours of training.

TRAINING ZONE 3,  it is called TEMPO. The intensity is between 76-90 percent of the FUNCTION THRESHOLD POWER (FTP) cycling power limit, most of this training takes about 20 minutes – 2 hours depending on your individual fitness level.

TRAINING ZONE 4,  it is a zone that focuses on developing the level of starting point fatigue and similar to when determining the limit of power for cycling FUNCTION THRESHOLD POWER (FTP) intensity is approximately 91-105 percent.

TRAINING ZONE 5,  the intensity is between 106-120% of the cycling power limit. FUNCTION THRESHOLD POWER (FTP) mainly takes 3-8 minutes of training and the zone is used to develop aerobic capacity, body's maximum VO2MAX

TRAINING ZONE 6,  it is an anaerobic development of the body's ANAEROBIC, where the intensity is 120% of the FUNCTION TREASHOLD POWER (FTP) cycling power limit for approximately 30 seconds.

TRAINING ZONE 7,  the duration of training should notexceed 10. Seconds are the highest body weight that can be achieved and do notrequire FTP because the weight is over 120 percent or more.
